Planning to Take the ACT in 2015? Here's What You Should Know

Last August, we provided you with a guide to effectively preparing for the upcoming changes to both the SAT and ACT. Updates to the ACT are set to occur fall of 2015, which, we admit, seemed like ages away back in August. However, the first month of 2015 is already almost over, and fall will arrive even quicker than you think.

Juniors and sophomores, in particular, should consider taking the ACT this spring/summer, if you haven’t already registered. For juniors, it’s important to take the ACT one last time this spring to avoid the new test in the fall. We recommend taking the test 2-3 times, so plan your test prep accordingly.

Although sophomores will have to deal with both tests changing during their traditional test prep timelines, the ACT is still the best option since there are fewer changes. Our advice is to begin prepping for the ACT this spring, then take the exam for the first time this fall when you are a junior. That way, if you need to take it again, you’ll have ample time during the remainder of your junior year.
