2014-2015 ACT/SAT Test Dates Announced

Written by Megan Stubbendeck | Jul 22, 2014 10:48:12 PM

The official test dates for the ACT and SAT have been announced, as well as their respective registration dates. Students who are planning to take either the ACT or SAT in September or October should note the fast-approaching registration deadlines. In particular, the deadline for the September ACT is in a few weeks, so make sure to sign up before it's too late!

Note:  These dates do not apply to every country or every international testing center. They are just the possible dates an international test site might offer. The exact locations and their dates for the ACT can be found here and SAT, here

Will the new SAT and ACT be implemented for any of these test dates?

The New SAT
Students will not see the new SAT test format until spring 2016, therefore, those who plan to take the SAT on any of the dates above won't need to worry. You may, however, see some of the new SAT material tested in the experimental section, which does not affect your SAT score. For more information about test changes, read our overview of the new SAT.

The New ACT
Students taking the ACT in 2015 should prepare for the new test. There will be a few minor changes, including a new essay prompt that will require students to "evaluate multiple perspective on a complex issue and generate their own analysis based on reasoning, knowledge, and experience." Consequently, students will be given more time to complete their essays. The reading and math sections are changing slightly as well. The reading section will introduce new question types, while the math section will emphasize statistics and probability. Again, these changes are so subtle, you might not even notice them!
